The world as it is: fragile, unbalanced, degenerative. The world as it could be: resilient, rebalanced, regenerative. Explore with us how particular perspectives on challenge and change can help build flourishing futures for people, places and the planet.

In this interactive events series, we share insights from the RSA’s Design for Life mission and, with them, our six perspectives that are core to regenerative change: systemic, imaginative, adaptive, collective, long-time and authentic.

We'll ask, how might we invite these perspectives into all our work to transform our economic, social and environmental systems to be more conducive to life?

In this event, we'll spotlight where these perspectives are being applied within a range of work-in-progress ‘interventions’ by the RSA, as well as our Fellows and partners to imagine and pursue better futures.

Join us to discuss what we’re doing, what we’re learning, and what shows up in your own social innovation research.

At this event, Joanna Choukeir (Director of Design and Innovation) and Tom Stratton (Chief of Staff) will reflect on the journey we have been on in the two years since launching our Design for Life mission.

In that time, our interventions have evolved into a diverse and ambitious innovation pipeline. In our first year, most of these interventions were at the startup stage. They then grew out of a co-designed process - among colleagues, partners, and over 1,000 Fellows.

Now in its second year of development, we have seen some of our startup interventions grow and evolve in impact and maturity. Inspired by our regenerative mission and the living cycle of innovation we all experience in nature, we have developed a framework to help understand, synthesise, and track our innovation pipeline of interventions.

Different interventions are at different stages of the pipeline, depending on what we’re learning about the value they bring to our communities, as well as the level of investment we have secured to support their impact.

In this coffeehouse event, we’ll be sharing where we’ve been, where we are now, what’s next and what we’ve learned over that challenging yet fulfilling journey.

Presentations from our speakers will be followed by an opportunity for questions and discussion.

We welcome anyone and everyone passionate about social change from different fields and disciplines, within and beyond our RSA Fellowship community to attend.
