RSA Academy, Tipton is part of the RSA Family of Academies who all have a commitment to connecting pupils with the world beyond school. Local Fellows are invited to take up a new opportunity to support this commitment by becoming mentors.
Join Us with One Million Mentors (1MM) - Help Our Year 13 Students
We have signed up to One Million Mentors (see further details below) and would like to invite you to support this endeavour to give every Year 13 student access to a mentor in one of the most important years of their life. This is an opportunity to have a real impact, directly helping students to make well-informed choices that will shape their future.
The commitment is just one hour per month. Dates and times will be agreed well in advance to suit your schedule, and as students' timetables allow. All mentors will be subject to DBS clearance and a brief reference check.
We are seeking mentors now to ensure preparations are completed and matching to a student can be done by the end of June. There will be at least one mentoring session scheduled before the summer break, so we can get off to strong start in September.
If you wish to find out more please get in touch with Arvind Batra BATRA.A@rsaacademy.org and copy in Zahid, from One Million Mentors. Zahid.Howladar@onemillionmentors.org.uk.
1MM & Mayor’s Mentors
One Million Mentors is a unique community based mentoring system. We believe access to a trained mentor should be a right not a privilege. Through personal, one-to-one mentoring, more young people can grow the knowledge, networks, skills and confidence they need to succeed.
Through our innovative platform we connect young people, all of whom have wonderful potential to develop, with our ever-growing network of professionals, harnessing and sharing the experience and expertise of the local community.
Our scheme is benefitting the lives of young people across Cardiff, Greater Manchester, West Midlands, and soon in East London. For the West Midlands we are delivery partners of Andy Street’s Mayor’s Mentors scheme.
