Walker Darke FRSA has been included in the Forbes Under 30 Europe Class of 2023.
Darke has been recognised for his pivotal role as the lead author of the UN's Roadmap to Carbon Neutrality by 2050 for Europe, North America, and Central Asia. This roadmap is a comprehensive guide that outlines technology and policy solutions for governments aiming to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. It provides strategies for diversifying energy sources, phasing out fossil fuels, and promoting low- and zero-carbon technologies.
Before joining UNECE, Darke worked for the European Commission in Brussels and supported the Climate Aggregation Platform at the United Nations Development Programme. His work aligns closely with the RSA's commitment to sustainability and regenerative principles.
Darke's work exemplifies the RSA's mission to empower people to create a sustainable future and his recognition on the Forbes list is one of many of RSA Fellows to be recognised, such as artist Pavel Kounchev, and director Tobi Kyeremateng.
Darke is currently a PhD candidate at Fudan University in China and recently worked at the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). Darke became a Fellow of the RSA in March 2023.
