RSA Oxfordshire: Future of Work Driven by Technology

RSA Oxford is organising an event to engage with Fellows globally on The Future of Work driven by technology, an adaption of our regular meetings in Oxford since Covid-19. 

Join our online panel and debate session on Thursday 18th June from 18.00.  Our panellists will discuss past understanding, present reality and future opportunity in short presentations for the first hour, then engage live participant questions in the second-half debate.

Panel: 

Jayne Woodley FRSA, Chief Executive of the Oxfordshire Community Foundation (OCF), one of 46 similar organisations across the UK, part of the UK Community Foundations, and local partner for organisations such as Comic Relief and the Big Lottery.  Jayne swapped Barclays Capital to take on the role at OCF motivated by a growing personal desire for greater social justice and belief in ‘community as a cause’. Jayne’s knowledge and understanding will provide a perspective of social capital and the future of work. 

Professor Jonathan Trevor  is a leading expert on strategy and organisation, and the author of the best-selling book, Align: A Leadership Blueprint for Aligning Enterprise Purpose, Strategy and Organisation (Bloomsbury, 2019).  He is Associate Professor at Said Business School where his expertise includes future of work and next generation organisation providing insight into how industry will have to change. In 2016 he led the annual GOTO programme on Future of Work that researched drivers of change on human, organisational, social and technological capital. 

Ross Smith FRSA (Supportability Engineering Leader, Modern Workplace, Microsoft) based in the USA, is an accomplished speaker on technology and the workplace.  A talk he gave in 2011 was ‘how gaming changes the workplace’, identifying how technology is changing the skills base of future generations entering the workplace.  Technology has and will transform and change the way we communicate, specialising in Productivity Games and "gamification" in the workplace and Organizational Trust, Ross is at the forefront of technological change.

Taking Part in RSA Online Events  

For our interactive online events, the RSA uses the platform Zoom. We have found it simple for participants to use while also providing the necessary functionality for an engaging online event.  

To participate in the event, you will need to register for a ticket to receive the bespoke link to join. You will be sent detailed instructions via email closer to the event. Attendees will need to register for a free Zoom account and download their software. To understand more about how Zoom uses your data, please read their Privacy Policy in advance.  

We record many of our online events. By attending this online event you accept that you may appear in RSA videos as a participant. Our intention is to use any recording of this event for learning purposes and to document the content of the discussion. Currently we do not have plans to share this recording publicly but may do so in the future.
