US-based Fellow co-leading “Ask a Robot” - a monthly opportunity for older adults to learn about personified technologies.
Anastasia K. Ostrowski, FRSA, and Hae Won Park, PhD, invite adults aged 60+ to learn about social robots, and the technology being designed to support them. Ostrowski and Dr. Park are a PhD candidate, and research scientist respectively at the Personal Robots Group at the MIT Media Lab. The Personal Robots Group bridges the gap between intelligent personified technologies and human collaborative behavior.
Together, the pair have developed a new monthly series called Ask a Robot, which is balanced between interactive sessions, guest speakers, and discussions around robotics and robots in our world.
The next session is on Friday, March 19th at 2pm EDT, where they will discuss robots in movies through the ages from R2D2 and C-3PO (Star Wars) to WALL-E and Baymax (Big Hero Six). They also hold Zoom setup sessions 30 minutes before the main session to help everyone get connected to the meeting.
If you are 60 years+ and interested in social robots and learning more about how this technology is being designed, we would love for you to join us! You can find more information on how to attend Ask a Robot and other opportunities by filling out this form here.
