As we enter spring the RSA is off again inspiring, brokering and kicking-off initiatives that push the boundaries of social change from Abu Dhabi to Chile and, of course, the US.

OECD Inclusive Growth in Cities campaign launch - United States

Owing to some fantastic business development within the RSA's Public Services and Communities team, Director Charlotte Alldritt has been invited to attend the private launch of the OECD Inclusive Growth in Cities campaign in New York this week. Alongside building new strategic, global relationships, we will be hoping to position our upcoming commission on inclusive growth in cities as a UK case study within the OECD's global movement. 

Creativity in teachers and learners - Netherlands

Last week, Mark Londesborough, Programme Manager within our Creative Learning and Development team, gave a talk at Groningen University's Stadium Generale public engagement platform entitled 'The Power to Create: cultivating creativity in teachers and learners'. This is part of a series the university is running on future proofing education. He introduced the RSA's perspective on creative education, drawing on his own experience as a drama practioner to look at how collaborative, investigative, imaginative pedagogies can help prepare learners for the unique challenges of the 21st century.

Empowering teacher leaders - UAE and Lebanon

Director of Creative Learning and Development Joe Hallgarten, was recently a keynote speaker and session leader at the British Council Schools Now event in Abu Dhabi. The conference is about contemporary approaches to empowering school leaders to make important changes within teaching environments. 

He also met with the Abu Dhabi National Education Council about taking forward ideas from the WISE research. Following this he spent time with RSA Fellows and Salzburg Global Fellows in Beirut. 

Public Sector Innovation - Chile 

Matthew Taylor has been invited as keynote speaker at a pan-Latin American event, 'Future of State 2016' organised by OECD and Laboratorio de Gobierno, Government of Chile. Building on Charlotte Aldritt and Jonathan Schifferes' recent visit to Paris, Matthew will be providing learning and inspiration from the UK, as well as brokering a partnership with Laboratorio de Gobierno.

Global Challenge: Redesigning Parents Evening - USA

Project Engagement Manager Thomas Gilliford will be attending a kick-off workshop with IDEO's Teacher's Guild to launch a global challenge on redesigning parents' evenings. The workshop will be attended by key stakeholders in the US and European partners, with a view to replicating the content through the RSA's global networks.
