Perry Walker FRSA and Martin Yarnit FRSA are two of the founders of Talk Shop - a new social enterprise that enables us to discuss and reach agreements about the issues that really matter to us all - local, national, international.
Tricky questions like what should we do about the European Union, or how we should achieve energy security. Talk Shop is about making sure that everyone has a voice in the matters that concern them - so that democracy works for everyone. Unlike traditional debate formats – in which a mainly passive audience listens to a couple of speakers – everybody gets to take part in Talk Shop, and gets a better grasp of complex issues as a result.
After a period of preparation, setting up the website, developing materials, and so on, Talk Shop is now ready to spread its wings. Perry and Martin would love to hear from Fellows with these interests:
1. Fellows who would be interested to take part in or organise events. See what an event involves here.
2. Fellows with an interest in helping people meet and discuss the EU referendum, so that they have had a chance to think through their views before they vote.
