RSA Fellows are invited to a free film screening of 'The Migration Blanket - Climate Solidarity', at the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery on Thursday 28 July at 16:30-18:30 BST
The animated short is a collaboration led by award-winning British Pakistani artist Salma Zulfiqar FRSA, who has championed working with underrepresented, marginalised refugee and migrant girls and women to create artworks which provoke compassion and solidarity, while providing a platform to amplify their voices and create positive change in communities.
The film features over 400 pieces of unique artwork created during the pandemic and shows how women’s lives are being affected by climate change. It calls for a greener planet where nobody is left behind, and an end to violence against women.
Following the screening there will be a Q&A discussion with the artist and women who participated in the creation of The Migration Blanket.
This event is free to attend and open to all, however pre-booking is essential. Please see here for more information and to book a ticket.
Venue: Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery, Chamberlain Square, Birmingham, B3 3DH. Further venue and accessibility information can be found here.
