Late September is a month when London becomes abundant with trade shows such as London Fashion Week, 100% Design, Tent London, SuperBrands and the London Design Festival (to name a handful). They attract buyers, collectors, fashionistas, art experts and the crème de la crème of this fascinating industry from around the globe.
Held during the London Design Festival from the 17th-25th September and organised by the London based Museum of Cultural Arts (MOCA), the East Meets West Design Week 2016 – Digital Festival of Art & Design is a consumer focused event that will shine a spotlight on global artists and designers, displaying for audiences the breadth of creativity that exists worldwide.
With the ever increasing shift towards shopping, learning, viewing and socialising online, the festival takes the trend to a new level with an event that gives art lovers and enthusiasts international access to artists, venues and industry events from their computers and smartphones. It offers a unique opportunity to engage with creators and curators of design and the contemporary, visual and fine arts through the power of the internet. In its inaugural year the Digital Festival of Art & Design profiled artists from some 18 European locations and international destinations around the globe.
Lorraine Gabriel FRSA, the Artistic Director of the festival aims to provide a unique platform for artists and designers to showcase their works alongside a public programme that broadens the experience, helping to educate and inform on the commercial viabilities of new technologies in order to gain clients, opportunities and sales.
