Leadership Development Charity opens applications for its 2017 programme

Clore Social Leadership, one of the RSA's partner organisations, is urging the social sector to help find the next generation of leaders as their highly-regarded Fellowship programme opens for applications.

Clore Social Leadership is inviting sector leaders to nominate the most talented people in their organisations to apply by identifying those who they believe can make social change happen.

Now in its eighth year, the Clore programme is for those with an appetite to lead who are committed to transforming their organisations, the sector and the wider community. To date, 125 emerging leaders have completed the Fellowship, and this year the dynamic 12-month programme is open to people across the sector encompassing both general and specialist Fellowships.

Shaks Ghosh, Chief Executive of Clore Social Leadership has said of the course, ‘The aim of our programme is to generate grounded and collaborative leaders who will effectively guide their organisations and the sector through today’s social challenges to rebuild trust. We want to create leaders who are hungry to invest in their development, which is why we are actively collaborating with the sector to ensure we are serving their leadership needs.’

Dr Jane Collins, Chief Executive of Marie Curie, also backs the need to find the next generation of leaders. ‘Developing a leadership pipeline is imperative for the sector and we are delighted that Clore Social Leadership is helping to fulfil this. Their programme encourages sector organisations to look at their leadership requirements to ensure our beneficiaries are supported well into the future.’

As part of the application process, individuals will be asked to indicate how they plan to apply their learnings from the programme once back in their own organisations and to demonstrate their commitment to change. The Fellowship has been updated to include experiential team challenges that focus on contemporary issues and collaborative opportunities. This complements other components of the programme including residential courses, coaching and mentoring, completing a practice-based provocation paper and action learning sets.
