LGBT+ History Month is dedicated to recognising the contributions, struggles, and achievements of LGBT+ individuals throughout history.

The month aims to educate and inspire by highlighting historical figures and events, promoting inclusivity and diversity.

The theme for 2025's LGBT+ History Month is 'Activism and Social Justice', focusing on the role of LGBT+ activists in driving progress for equality.

This year we will be celebrating with an online event in collaboration with UK Black Pride led by pioneering LGBT+ rights, anti-racism and social justice campaigner Lady Phyll who will be leading a panel discussion and audience Q&A.

UK Black Pride is Europe’s largest celebration for LGBT+ people of African, Asian, Caribbean, Latin American, and Middle Eastern descent. Founded in 2005 by Lady Phyll, it provides a safe, empowering space to celebrate diverse identities, advocating inclusion, addressing systemic inequalities and social justice.

At the RSA, we strive to create inclusive and supportive environments for all Fellows. We recognise that individuals may require different forms of support to fully participate in our events and activities. Therefore, we welcome and encourage Fellows to bring the support they feel is necessary, whether it be a carer, an emotional support animal, or any other form of assistance. We ask that you fill out the accessibility requirements box in your Eventbrite booking form in advance of attending one of our events to ensure that the venues can accommodate such requirements. Our aim is to ensure that everyone feels comfortable and valued, and we are committed to accommodating diverse needs to foster an inclusive community.
