RSA Engage events provide a brilliant platform to share ideas, seek support from others and establish and develop connections.
Following on from our RSA Engage Nations events in April and July, we will feature innovative projects from across the nations of the British Isles seeking support from an informed audience, working to address social challenges and reflecting a positive vision for the future of the world, driving inclusive and sustainable action.
The event will feature four short talks and Q&As from socially focused initiatives across the nations – with a focus on elder care, sustainable business and arts in prisons. The pitches will be followed by an opportunity for you to ask questions, find out more from the people driving the ideas forward, and volunteer your support.
This event is free to attend, and open to Fellows and friends of the RSA.
Rebecca Lindum Greene convened, coordinated and co-facilitated Drawing Connections from 2017 -2019. Motivated by Rebecca’s direct personal experience of the benefits of creativity, including for those who are alienated from mainstream education and society. Rebecca has wide-ranging experience of leading or collaborating in art, drama and eco-therapy activities, including for the Lincolnshire NHS Partnership Trust, Kettle’s Yard gallery, Transition Cambridge and the E-luminate Festival in Cambridge.
They currently work as a Duty Manager and Visitor Assistant at Kettle’s Yard House and Gallery, Cambridge, and held the title of Honorary Artist in Residence 2019 - 2024, Institute of Criminology, University of Cambridge. Following the publication of the formal evaluation in the APA journal Psychology of Aesthetics, Creativity, and the Arts , Rebecca is looking to develop the project in to a charity to enable more people the opportunity.
Danielle Dale is the Founder of The Changineer, a consultancy that helps businesses become more environmentally and socially conscious, bridging the gap between local and global challenges, and balancing short-term actions with long-term priorities. Through tailored conversations, The Changineer empowers organisations to align with Earth's life-supporting systems and foster a socially just society, while achieving economic goals and meeting stakeholder expectations. With a background in engineering and operations within the energy sector, Danielle brings a unique perspective to environmental problem-solving. Her expertise lies in bridging technical solutions with stakeholder engagement, making her a valuable ally in the pursuit of sustainable business practices.
Lorraine Morgan will be speaking about Jackie’s Revolution, an initiative that seeks to challenge uncomfortable realities about the institutionalisation of citizens in residential homes under the guise of care and companionship while there is compelling evidence that shows people do not want to live in institutions and that they prefer to die in their own homes. Yet the financial, social, technological, environmental, health and social care infrastructures to facilitate that choice do not exist. Jackie’s Revolution exists to lead and collaborate with visionaries, thinkers, innovators, and forward-thinking people across all sectors of society to ensure people can live out their whole life in the place they choose in the advanced stages of life.
