Bath Community Kitchen (BCK) will share their work using communal meals and cookery workshops to improve people’s physical and mental wellbeing in Bath and surrounding areas. BCK believe that cooking and sharing food are powerful therapeutic and educational tools to improve people’s lives and that good food should be available to all.
BCK currently run several weekly communal meals around Bath, primarily using surplus food from supermarkets and other local suppliers, which would have otherwise gone to landfill. We believe that this focus on ethics doesn’t need to come at the expense of enjoyment or flavour; if anything, it improves it, and our dishes are full of beauty and creativity.
In addition to successful grant funding, BCK reinvests profits from event catering and ticketed events into their community programmes. They have a long term plan to have a pay-what-you-can restaurant or cafe in Bath, providing a welcoming, inclusive community space and hub for BCK's food, workshops and events.
Come along to hear more and expect a surprise, delicious and creative selection of nibbles at this Fellowship event!
