Join the RSA global community for a nourishing conversation about intentional rest, wintering practices, and how we can care for ourselves at this time of year.

Our lives move at a fast past, with limited time to rest, heal, and hibernate. For those of us pursuing creative and social impact endeavors, rest is paramount to help restore our energy in both our personal and professional lives. In some communities and spaces, rest is increasingly seen as a form of resistance and liberation (e.g. Tricia Hersey and the Nap Ministry). In many spiritual and indigenous systems and cultures rest is understood as a spiritual, healing, nature-honoring practice. There have recently also been countless studies highlighting the benefits, and importance, of rest for healing our bodies, alleviating stress, and boosting our creativity.

So, why do we find it so hard to slow down and rest? How can we be more intentional about rest? How can we hit pause, honor and reflect on the year gone by and look forward to what is to come?

For this important event, we will be joined by a global panel of speakers who will each share their approaches to rest and restful practices, with the hope of creating a collective space for reflection, conversation, and connection. Please prepare for some guided meditation during this event.

Those interested in this topic, and event, are encouraged to share their own restful practices, local traditions for rest, and everything in between on our Circle space dedicated to this event. Attendees are encouraged to share their insights and questions during this virtual discussion.
