Join us for a conversation with Christabel Nsiah-Buadi, Lead for Spotify’s “Behind the Mic” fellowship.
Spotify is the world’s most popular audio streaming subscription service, with 365m users across 178 markets. Diversity in podcasting remains a challenge. Spotify’s global program, ‘Sound Up’ was launched in 2018 to address this. The program gives underrepresented podcasters the tools to boost their platforms through workshops and education. In 2021, Sound Up launched the “Behind the Mic” fellowship, for Black creatives who want to transfer their skills into the podcast industry. The program was developed and is led by Christabel Nsiah-Buadi.
Gender Equity Network lead Octavia Goredema MBE, FRSA will be talking to Christabel Nsiah-Buadi FRSA about her award-winning career as a journalist, producer and entrepreneur, how she pursued professional goals on both sides of the Atlantic, and her advice for aspiring podcasters.
RSA US Virtual Salons occur on the fourth Thursday of each month; they aim to create open dialogue and a space for RSA US Fellows to connect across geography over the issues of our times. Join a Salon to get to know other RSA US Fellows and our interests, passions, and perspectives. Salons are supported through the moderation of a volunteer to ensure that a diversity of voices are heard. We invite all Fellows to join this discussion to deepen the ways we can connect with each other across the country!
