Join us for RSA Street Wisdom on 7th July.
At the RSA, we want to bring people together to unlock ideas and innovation in the areas of society that must thrive so we can live well - to identify how the world could, and should, change after this pandemic. We’re calling this our Bridges to the Future.
Connection and collaboration are critical if we are to find new ways for all areas of society to move forward. But how can we do this best while we’re still physically distanced from each other?
At RSA Central we have been working closely with Street Wisdom to look for some answers. We invite you to join us in that quest by taking a walk to explore this question:
How can we better understand and connect with each other and with the communities we seek to support?
There is a short audio guide to help you and we’re on hand networks@rsa.org.uk if you have any questions, and to read your experiences and any answers or ideas you find.
We’ll also gather together online on Tuesday 7th July 6.30-8pm to share our experiences and consider how we might become better connected, as Fellows, friends and partners, in positive social change. Book your place using the link above and you’ll receive the Zoom registration link.
We’d love to hear how you get on at any time in your Street Wisdom journey or if you have any questions. You can email networks@rsa.org.uk using the subject heading Street Wisdom.
What is Street Wisdom and how does it work?
In complex times it can be hard to figure out what’s next both at work and in life. Street Wisdom is a fresh way to find the path that’s right for you and answers to a question.
A dynamic mix of psychology, creativity, mindfulness and cognitive science, Street Wisdom is based on the simple idea that wisdom is available all the time when we know how to look.
We tune up your senses. You ask a question and go for a wander. Then share what you learned. It’s that simple.
In normal times, it is a three-hour experience in three parts: the Tune Up, The Quest and then The Sharing. Whilst we are keeping our distance and gatherings are not permitted, we have an audio guide which you can download onto your phone and take with you on your daily walk. Founder David Pearl will talk you through the process allowing you to access the wisdom of the street at your own pace. Download it here.
Then take to the streets with audio guide in hand and this question in mind: how might we better understand/connect with each other and the communities we seek to support?
Street Wisdom are also working with businesses to help teams stay connected and creative with virtual Street Wisdom experiences run via Zoom. You can find out more here or get in touch with mark.brown@streetwisdom.org.
Happy Wandering!

Taking Part in RSA Online Events
For our interactive online events, the RSA uses the platform Zoom. We have found it simple for participants to use while also providing the necessary functionality for an engaging online event.
To participate in the event, you will need to register for a ticket to receive the bespoke link to join. You will be sent detailed instructions via email closer to the event. Attendees will need to register for a free Zoom account and download their software. To understand more about how Zoom uses your data, please read their Privacy Policy in advance.
We record many of our online events. By attending this online event you accept that you may appear in RSA videos as a participant. Our intention is to use any recording of this event for learning purposes and to document the content of the discussion. Currently we do not have plans to share this recording publicly but may do so in the future.
