How is a new generation of African innovators shaping global culture?

Join us as we celebrate the vision and creativity of a new generation of African changemakers who are reshaping global culture. The RSA collaborates with the Africa Centre’s Nzube Ukodike and Olu Alake to spotlight these innovators driving social change through their cultural contributions.

We will explore how these emerging leaders are influencing global conversations and challenging traditional narratives, paving the way for a more inclusive and dynamic cultural landscape.

Together, we will examine how institutions like the RSA can better support African changemakers. We will discuss strategies to amplify the impact of African culture on the global stage and consider how we can foster deeper connections between cultural institutions and the changemakers leading this transformation. Join us for an inspiring conversation that celebrates the power of African culture to create lasting social change.

Olu Alake brings significant third-sector experience to The Africa Centre, having previously served as CEO at The Peel Institute. He has previously held senior management positions in various Beyond-Profit organisations, including London Marathon Foundation, Buttle UK, Equality & Human Rights Commission and Arts Council England. His responsibilities in these roles have included business transformation, grants management, strategic leadership, and organisational development. Olu is a founder member and President Emeritus of 100 Black Men of London and also a Trustee of The Reader Organisation.
