Join us for this special event celebrating the 2018/19 RSA Student Design Awards and the power of design to make a positive social impact. The evening will open with a keynote talk by Kate Dundas, Team Leader of City Plans for the City of Melbourne, where she sets the strategic direction for areas undergoing change.
Kate will share her career journey since winning an RSA Student Design Award back in 2002, her progression from industrial design through landscape architecture to leading on Melbourne City planning. Kate will discuss some of her favourite projects and the personal values that shape her work.
RSA Trustee Andrea Kershaw will then present the 2019 Awards, sharing an overview of each winning project and inviting the people behind these fascinating ideas on stage to receive their awards.
The event will be followed by a drinks reception in the RSA’s Benjamin Franklin Room – everyone welcome!
At the RSA we explore the big challenges facing the world today and support innovative ideas and solutions to tackle them.
The RSA Student Design Awards is a global competition focused around a set of project briefs that challenge participants to tackle the big issues of our time through design thinking. Winners receive practical and financial support from the RSA and our partners, as well as the opportunity to join a remarkably diverse community of alumni.
