Deyan Sudjic, director of the Design Museum and the author of a new book, 'B is for Bauhaus' explores the many meanings of design, from the political and social, to the seductions of aesthetics and salesmanship.

What can design teach us about the modern world? For Deyan Sudjic, director of the Design Museum, design is an essential tool to help understand the world around us, and to make it a better place to live. He believes that without better design, better use of scarce resources, and more innovation, the future won’t work.

He visits the RSA to discuss how critical design can assist in making sense of the political, cultural, economic, and personal, and offers a revealing and highly personal inside view of popular culture.

Chair: Sevra Davis is the Manager of the RSA Student Design Awards and Associate Director of Design at the RSA.
