Last week a cheeky friend referred to this blog as a bit Marie Claire. They didn't specify whether it was my writing style or the generally pink-ness of the graphics. I actually think this actually puts me in quite good company for a newcomer to blogging... So in the best women's magazine style, reproduced here are Marie Claire's 10 top tips to lead a greener lifestyle:

- Take a stand against standby
- Boil less, freeze more
- Try not to fly
- Turn out the bright lights
- Use renewable energy
- Take a low-power shower
- Cut car trips
- Wrap up your home
- Sort your washing out
- Recycle
I think they're pretty good tips (#9 means try to use your tumble dryer less by the way). And here are their 10 top healthy diets:
