Educating the ‘failing’ 40%
An analysis of how GCSE performance and institutional arrangements impact on students’ choices and qualifications after 16.
The RSA’s OPSN is a programme of work committed to exploring how data and information can empower public service users and educationalists deliver to better outcomes.
We created a postcode based database for the Guardian GCSE school guide, to help parents research local schools in England. Our subsequent report on post-16 education took a fresh look at regional and local authority level data, analysing how qualification entries and completion vary by institution and area.
