Support the next generation of Welsh entrepreneurs by sharing your skills and expertise through a brand new mentoring programme.
With matched funding we have supported the 2017 cohort of young entrepreneurs for the Tafflab programme. Fellows' have continued their partnership with one of Wales's largest FE College collectives to support students to test their enterprise idea. Regardless of sector or industry, this project is designed to support the individual to realise an idea.
Using Fellowship support and connections, participants will take part in a mentoring relationship and gain support and advice to help them turn their idea into reality. By acting as a critical friend, RSA Fellows will question the participant and offer tools and tips to help them explore the idea and succeed.
Video: Jess Watkins - a TaffLab winner from the first cohort
Jess reflects on a very successful year.
Her business, Calypso, was supported by her RSA award and her RSA mentor, Gareth Jones, from Welsh ICE (Innovation Centre for Startups in South Wales).
They both highlighted how mentoring had been the key to success.
They also felt that the quarterly TaffLab meetings, where award winners and mentors shared news, had been incredibly valuable.
The project has now entered its third cohort with five more young businesses gaining support. To find out more, see 'project team' below: can you help them? Following on from the collaborative benefits highlighted by the first cohort, they intend to hold a joint marketing event hosted by Coleg y Cymoedd next term.
