Digital storytelling to help unlock creative confidence in schools
The Story Republic supports literacy and “computeracy” in primary and secondary schools through a recording and object-recognising device that aims to digitise the show-and-tell format. Help is needed because still 25% of pupils haven’t gained the average SATS level four in English when they arrive at secondary school. The aim of this project is to build confidence and to motivate young writers in schools through the opportunity to perform and tell their stories. The Story Republic wants to partner teachers, writers, and university researchers to inspire pupils and students to create work they are proud of and to share it with a wider public.
