Laura Willoughby FRSA, co-founder of Club Soda, invites Fellows to discover alcohol-free drinks at two free to attend festivals in London & Glasgow. Laura received an RSA Catalyst grant to help develop the online platform Club Soda’s Guide for Mindful Drinkers.

Club Soda, The Mindful Drinking Movement, are bringing back their alcohol-free drinks festival this summer after a great first event last year - and have plans for another one in Glasgow in October. The success of the events shows that the move towards a healthier drinking culture is gathering momentum in the UK.

The Mindful Drinking Festival, in association with Heineken® 0.0, will showcase a range of new products hitting the market from UK based start-ups. There will be eight alcohol-free beers, seven botanical spirits, and a new wave of shrubs, kombuchas and blends bringing a modern twist to old recipes.

The event also features the UK’s first ever Quit Lit Festival, a chance to meet the new wave of authors writing about mindful drinking, and an alcohol-free beer tasting with top beer writer and sommelier Jane Peyton.

Club Soda founder Laura Willoughby MBE FRSA said:

”Seven million people in the UK are sober curious and sales of low and no-alcohol drinks are at an all time high. The most common request we get is for ideas about what to drink instead, so we decided to curate our favourites and create a festival for everyone! The festival is great for those going sugar-free, on a fitness regime, drinking more mindfully, or going alcohol-free. There are many reasons why people may want to swap out a few alcoholic drinks for something a bit healthier.”

Other sponsors putting their weight behind the event include new alcohol-free gin Ceder’s who will be launching at the Festival, tonic and mixer giants Fever-Tree, and the UK’s most popular alcohol-free wine Eisberg.

The Club Soda Mindful Drinking Festival is hosted by Spitalfields Market in East London on Saturday 28 July from 11.00am to 6.00pm and is free to attend. Follow the link for more details: www.Mindfuldrinkingfestival.com

Scotland’s first Mindful Drinking Festival will be in Glasgow at The Briggait on Saturday 13 October.
