Dina Nayeri

Novelist

Dina Nayeri has written two novels on the refugee experience. Her book The Ungrateful Refugee, based on an acclaimed Guardian Long Read of the same name, will be published by Canongate Books in 2019. She has won the UNESCO City of Literature Paul Engel Prize 2018, a National Endowment for the Arts Grant 2015, an O. Henry Prize 2015, and Best American Short Stories 2018. Her work has been translated to 14 languages and published in New York TimesGuardian, and many other publications. She is a graduate of Princeton, Harvard, and the Iowa Writers Workshop, and lives in London.
