Chris Mitchell

Chris is currently Acting Principal at Elstree UTC (a specialist Media Arts and Creative Technologies College) where his passions for multimedia literacy, creative collaboration and professional media production can converge to give students an education which is hopefully as meaningful as it is inspiring.
Chris Mitchell is an excitable educator and school leader. He is a Literacy, English and Media Arts specialist with professional experience of film making, media performance and digital arts. He has an MSc in New Media Arts where his research was concerned with ‘open and performative’ learning. Chris is a graduate of the Transformational Teachers Programme (TTP 09) and he has also been awarded the Jack Petchy award for outstanding services to young people and was nominated for a Pearson National Teaching Award. Some of his career highlights include appearances on Choice FM and Kerrang! Radio, leading students on 4 industry experience trips to New York City and taking 3 shows to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
