Kabir Kaul
Conservationist and wildlife writer
Kabir is a 19-year-old conservationist, wildlife writer and a passionate advocate for London’s biodiversity. When he was 13, he created Nature Reserves of London, the first interactive map showing every nature reserve and publicly accessible wildlife site in the capital.
Through writing, broadcasting, public speaking and social media, he raises awareness of urban green spaces and their wildlife, and believes everyone can make a difference to protect them. In celebration of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, he led the '70 Nestboxes for 70 Years' project, which saw over 100 schools across London receive a nest box.
Kabir’s work has been featured by numerous media outlets, including BBC Autumnwatch, The Big Issue and The Financial Times. He has also received several awards for his work, including the Prime Minister’s Points of Light award in 2020. Between April 2022 and March 2023, he served on the Mayor of London's London Rewilding Taskforce. In June 2023, he became a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
