For seven months last year, the RSA Food, Farming & Countryside Commission cycled the length and breadth of the UK, from Sheppey to Shetland, meeting and talking to people about what matters to them.
We listened to people in their homes and at work, upending traditional processes of consultation and heard many and varied, rich and vivid accounts of rural life across the UK.
They have all helped the Commission’s work toward the final report. But we want to do justice to the thought-provoking, moving stories we heard and the inspiring people who’ve contributed.
So we’ve produced a book – Fork in the Road – a companion to the Commission Report due in July, and will be launching it with a celebration - a mini-festival - at RSA House on 11th April, 6-10pm.
The festival will feature live music, talks, workshops, photo galleries, film rooms, and a seasonal menu using food from the producers we met across the UK.
We’re bringing the country to town, and the unheard voices to the centre of policy making.
We hope to see you there!
