The first edition of Dr Carol Dweck’s renowned global bestselling book (Mindset: The new psychology of success) in 2007 and her second edition in 2016 have sold over 1 million copies.

Current MSFT CEO Satya Nadella states that much of the organisation transformed fortunes have come from the work that is called Growth Mindset theory. And it is fair to say that ‘growth mindset’ has become a part of the business and organisational lexicon. However, other than many commentary pieces over the years, points of views, tedtalks, podcast etc, very little has been done to empirically investigate the business impact of growth mindset in the work place; productivity, profitability, revenue growth.

Meta-LUCID along with the support of Prof Nick Lee (Warwick Business School) and Dr Sylvia Roberts (independent researcher) aim to address this matter and we wish to partner with a commercial organisation to engage in a longitudinal research project. Our aim is to explore and understand what impact does Growth Mindset theory have on the development of first line managers that improves outcome performance; from greater employee engagement to improved profitability. To this end the fundamental experimental design will be based around three cohorts; two study groups and a control group.

Join Mark McCarthy, co-founder of Meta-LUCID, on a RSA zoom meeting to understand more about this unique opportunity. We wish to explore what companies would be interested in participating.
