Inspired by the RSA’s origin in an enlightenment coffeehouse over 260 years ago, our new Northern Coffeehouse series offers an interactive space to share ideas for social change.
We’re joined by Matt Reed, the Strategy Director at the University of Liverpool’s Materials Innovation Factory. Matt is spearheading a project to harness Industry 4.0 to create ‘Covid-19-resilient virtual laboratories’ for both academic research and industrial R&D.
Based on campus at the University of Liverpool, the Materials Innovation Factory is a translational research facility, bringing together world-class knowledge leadership in materials chemistry, laboratory automation and digital chemistry. The £100m facility is the result of a 15-year partnership between Unilever’s R&D capability – whose global headquarters are about five miles away – and the university.
Join us most Fridays for an informal lunchtime talk followed by a chance to discuss the topic of the day or anything else that is on your mind, in small breakout rooms. Starting at 1pm and finished by 1.45pm, you can enjoy your Friday lunch break with inspiring speakers and interesting colleagues.
