This is a joint event between the RSA Fellows’ MCICH Network and the National Library of Scotland (NLS).
Join us at NLS, with guest speakers Adam Wilkinson FRSA (CEO, Edinburgh World Heritage) and Dr Deborah Mays FRSA (CEO, The Heritage Place). Full speaker biographies will be issued at the event.
Urban area management falls in the space between proactive planning and reactive heritage preservation - the conservation of objects within the urban realm for the benefit of future generations. Competing priorities require the protection of all interests, not least societal well-being and to avoid Subtopia.
In an event designed to fall within Scotland’s Year of Innovation, Architecture, and Design, we will be exploring why urban places need protection, what we are looking after, and for whom.
Location: National Library of Scotland, George IV Bridge, Edinburgh, EH1 1EW (entering via the fully accessible Main Entrance on George IV Bridge.)
Please book your place at the top of this page.
Fuller speaker biographies will be issued at the event. Any questions, please email Mrs Ann Packard FRSA HonFRIAS, MCICH Network chairmam: ann.packard@council-rsa.org.uk.
Delegates should note that the RSA is managing the registrations and will hold data provided in full accordance with the Data Protection Act. Photographs may be taken at the event; anybody wishing exclusion should please indicate this on arrival.
