Please note, this event is no longer happening in tandem online, but will be hosted on The Steps in Rawthmells.

Join Laura Partridge, Senior Researcher in the RSA’s Education team, for a discussion on the the role of teachers, families, communities and young people themselves in creating an education system that works for every child, as part of the RSA’s new Friday Conversations programme.

We’re marking the launch of our new coffeehouse – Rawthmells – with a celebration of the very best ideas for the future. Our vision is for the coffeehouse to be a place where individuals become part of a greater movement for social change – a natural home for anyone who wants to change the world, enabling people to connect, share knowledge, collaborate, and build new communities to tackle the social challenges of our time.

To celebrate Rawthmells’ opening, we’re bringing together a series of powerful conversations and sharing the best ideas on some of the challenges we face as a society in the next decade and beyond.

On Friday 30th November at 3pm GMT, Laura Partridge, Senior Researcher, Creative Learning and Development will host a conversation on social justice in education. We are interested in what you think about the role of teachers, families, communities and young people themselves in creating an education system that works for every child. It will be an opportunity to share your thoughts, questions and challenges as well as hearing more from Laura on our work at the RSA.

Come along to The Steps at 3pm on Friday 30th, there is no need to register or explore the full programme of events and join the conversation.

About Friday Conversations

This event marks the launch of our ongoing Friday Conversations programme hosted in Rawthmells Coffeehouse: where Fellows are invited to come together to address a challenge, open a conversation or share a project.

Every Friday from midday on The Steps, our mini auditorium, Fellows are invited to take to the stage to address a challenge, open a conversation or share a project. Take a seat to find out about new and exciting ideas, or to stand up and address the audience.

If you are in the coffeehouse on a Friday, pop by The Steps to discover new ideas and projects from the Fellowship or find out about upcoming speakers and topics.

If you’d like to speak on The Steps it is free to sign up, please just get in touch to find a suitable date. The coffeehouse is open to the public and we’d encourage you to invite guests to hear you talk.

Please check here for information about the speakers coming up.
