RSA House
RSA House in London is a great place to work, meet other Fellows and enjoy coffee and light refreshments.
This room was originally part of the RSA Library, created in 2003. It was made into a separate room within the Library in 2018 when the space underwent significant redevelopment.
The room is named for an RSA Chair upon their retirement, after completing one or two terms of service, in honour of their commitment and dedication to the RSA and its Fellows.
Previously, the space was named after our Chair of Trustees, Vikki Heywood DBE. Vikki served as chair of the RSA between 2012 and 2018. She was trained as a stage manager, became the joint Chief Executive of the Royal Court Theatre, and was the Executive Director of the Royal Shakespeare Company in 2003-13.
Presently, the room is named for Tim Eyles OBE.
Tim is a senior Board Chair with a portfolio of roles across a range of sectors, including business services, financial services, healthcare, technology, and the arts.
Tim is a former Chair of the Theatres Trust (a UK Government body whose aim is to promote and protect theatres) and of Jerwood Arts (which helps emerging artists, curators, and producers to thrive).
Tim was formerly the International Board Chair and Managing Partner at global professional services firm Taylor Wessing, which he led through a period of transformational growth from 2009 to 2018.
Tim became Chair of the RSA in 2018, retiring from this position in 2024, following the completion of two terms. During this time, Tim was also Chair of the RSA Nominations and Governance Panel and the RSA People and Remuneration Committee.
Tim was awarded an OBE in the 2023 New Year Honours List for services to the arts.
This room is dedicated in gratitude for his contribution to the RSA on behalf of the RSA Board of Trustees, Fellows, and RSA Staff.
