Join us for a talk with composer, pianist and researcher, Oscar Edelstein. He is known for his originality and inventiveness within music, and is a senior professor and leader of the research groups as the Universidad de Quilmes (Buenos Aires)
Frequently considered as leading, from Latin America, the avant-garde of music. He has received many commissions for modern operas and non-conventional symphonic works from Ministerio de Cultura de la Nación, Teatro Colón (Buenos Aires), Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de Argentina, London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Swedish percussion group Kroumata and Basel Sinfonietta, among many others.
His performances with his group, Ensamble Nacional del Sur (ENS) have been considered by specialist critics as “the most relevant musical event of the last decade in Argentina”, “the high point of experimental production in the continent” or “a historic milestone in the cutting edge production of Latin America.” His work is crucial to the map of contemporary Latin American music and performance.
Edelstein has been performing in the with UK with Deborah Claire Procter – singer and multimedia artist from Cardiff. A proud FRSA, she will be on hand to help with questions.
