South East Virtual Coffeehouse: Bringing the arts into social care
Echoing the RSA’s origin as an enlightenment coffeehouse over 250 years ago, our regular South East Coffeehouse series offers an interactive space to share, spark and develop ideas for social change.
Each month, on a Friday lunchtime, we feature one South East changemaker, giving them the floor to share their work, or to facilitate a thought-provoking discussion. We invite you to connect with local changemakers, be inspired by innovative Fellow-led projects, share insights and learn from each other.
The themes and conversations vary month-to-month, fostering unique conversations in each session. So come along, and start your weekend with a spark of inspiration!
Time Bandits is an award-winning initiative transforming dementia care through creativity. Each week, school students bring music, drama, and art into care homes, enriching residents’ lives while gaining invaluable experience. Featured in The Journal of Dementia Care and winner of NAPA’s Working Together Award, this project proves the power of intergenerational connection. We’ll hear from Judy Seall FRSA, the project lead, and some of the young Time Bandits themselves.
So grab a cuppa, and join us to hear about this heart-warming inspiring community project. Also, if you’re a secondary school Head Teacher, why not come along to explore bringing Time Bandits to your school and local care home!?
Interested in taking part as a guest speaker? Get in touch, to tell us about your work or to suggest a discussion topic. We look forward to hearing from you!
