Explore diverse perspectives
Built on the solid foundations of 100 years of the Student Design Awards, RSA Spark has been designed to achieve even greater impact.
Join the RSA for the second in a series of free interactive online learning workshops.
In the first workshop, students and educators grew their capabilities in care, citizenship and composure, undertaking exercises to help them understand what they care about and be able to connect (or support their students to connect) to an RSA Spark brief.
In this second workshop, you will prepare to explore different perspectives and possibilities for your chosen brief, thinking about who you should work with and what you can do to better understand the context and stakeholders.
What this workshop offers
In this interactive online learning workshop, you’ll start to explore your chosen RSA Spark brief.
Are you a higher education student or educator? Join RSA Spark for the second in its series of free interactive online learning workshops.
In this workshop, you’ll discover how different issues are connected. You’ll explore different points of possibility and discover where you (or your team) can have the most impact and drive positive change.
What this workshop offers
The workshop will grow participants’ capabilities in care, curiosity and critical thinking.
- Curiosity is about finding excitement in learning from everything around us.
- Critical thinking is about regularly questioning how our feelings, other people, and the wider world influence our thinking.
- Care is about showing empathy and compassion for yourself, others, and the world around you. It’s the foundation of positive relationships and community building.
Growing these capabilities will support you to:
- Understand that other people who are affected by or affect the issues in the brief think and feel differently to themselves and still connect with them.
- Know where to look for answers that relate to the brief and see people, animals and even plants as teachers.
- Look at lots of different information and ideas before deciding what to think or do in response to the brief.
At the end of the workshop, participants will have the tools to map the different stakeholders that affect or are affected by the chosen RSA Spark brief and understand their perspectives. The workshop will also prepare you for the next stage of the creative process: developing your vision for change and a diversity of ideas that respond to your chosen brief.
Claim your RSA Spark digital badge
As a reminder, everybody who attends or watches a workshop on playback and completes the two surveys below will get an Explorer digital badge.
You will need to complete both surveys with your name so that we can issue the badges.
- At the start of the workshop, you will be invited to fill in the baseline survey. Please complete this when prompted.
- At the end of the workshop, we will also ask you to fill in the end of workshop survey. We will only be issuing badges to participants who complete both surveys.
- Although you only have to participate in one workshop to get an Explorer badge, we ask that you complete surveys for each workshop you participate in, as these surveys are designed to support you in identifying your capabilities and how they grow. The surveys are also an important way to give RSA Spark feedback and help us learn and improve!
